Solar String Lights
Do I need to switch the power OFF when I’m not using the lights?
These solar string lights have a built-in sensor that turns the power off when it gets light outside, and turns the power on when it gets dark. Therefore, you can leave these lights on all the time and let the sun do the rest! If your lights are in an area where the solar panel doesn’t get much direct sunlight, you may want to turn the lights off when not in use to preserve some of the power generated during the day.
I’ve noticed that the lights have become less bright over time...why?
There could be 2 reasons for this, but first a tip: Make it a habit to regularly wipe off the solar panel (we recommend once every 3-4 weeks), as dust, dirt, or other debris can gather and obstruct the panel from charging fully. This is one of the reasons why brightness may reduce over time. Another reason could be shorter days: during the fall, winter, and part of spring, there is less sunlight during the day, which in turn can cause the lights to be charged less than during the longer summer and spring days.
These lights are solar powered, so how do you recommend using them inside?
If you have a window or place inside that receives 2-3 hours or more of direct sunlight, you can leave the solar panel face-up in this position and see if it gets a sufficient charge during the day. If there isn’t enough direct sunlight and the panel doesn’t get a sufficient charge, leave the lights and panel outside (in direct sunlight) during the day to get a charge, and move them inside at night.
Since the battery inside is replaceable, about how long does it last?
The life of the battery should last between 1.5 and 2 years, depending on how much you use it. You can replace the battery with a rechargeable AA.

Can this lantern be used as an emergency light for a room?
Yes – this lantern is perfect for emergency use and power outages, and will light a regular-sized room easily when charged.
How long do I have to turn the hand crank to generate power?
Steadily using the hand crank for about 10 minutes should generate about an hour’s worth of power.
How long does the light last?
Once fully charged, the lantern will work for at least 12 hours on the brightest mode, and an additional 4 hours on the half bright mode.
